Here is the original cylinder of American Plastic Bricks by Elgo with a tin lid. There is no date but other auctions said the 1950s. The canister measures 15 1/2" x 4 ". 121 of the pieces are rectangles, 57 are squares, 38 are special pieces like white or windows etc. so the total is 116 being sold here. NOT COUNTED or photographed are 18 damaged pieces that I left in the bottom of the can just in case the buyer still wants them. No reserve.
