Lledo Promotional Models

DG6030 - 1920 Ford Model T Van
Automodel Exchange, Sydney, Australia

Jack Odell, one of the founders of the Matchbox diecast company, founded Lledo (Odell backwards) in 1982, and launched the "Days Gone" range of models in 1983, taking over a market previously popularised by the Matchbox "Models of Yesteryear" series. Models produced by the Enfield-based company became popular among collectors worldwide.

Lledo also specialised in the Promotional market, making models for companies and organisations who wanted to have their own logo or livery on a model for marketing or promotional purposes or to promote or commemorate specific events.

This model depicts the 1920 Ford Model T Van, which was one of the very first models in the "Days Gone" range when it launched in 1983, and proved a popular choice as a promotional mdel. This one was commissioned by Automodel Exchange, an Australian dealer which specialised in Lledo, to commemorate the first anniversary of Lledo in Australia.

Finished in maroon, it comes in its original box, and complete with a numbered certificate indicating this was one of the first release of just 1,000.

Excellent pre-owned condition, in original box, and complete with certificate. Box has minor wear, but no serious rips and no taped-up corners. There is a printed sticker on one end flap with details about the model, and a small hand-written price sticker affixed to the back face of the box, as well as another sticker with handwriting affixed to the base. Model itself is clean and appears to be in near-mint condition, only being taken out of the box to photograph. Includes plastic figures that accompanied some early Lledo models; however only two figures are included - policeman is missing. See photos - all photos show actual item.
