The bomb proof M20B20B engine starts and sounds well. It will be in need of a tune up i.e. new rotor arm, distributor cap, etc and probably an in tank fuel pump as it is a little noisy.
Its got a 5 speed manual gearbox. The gear selector bushes will need attention as its got quite a lot of play in it (usual stuff and easily and cheaply available from BMW).
It is finished in black and the paint work is reasonable for its age. It has been painted down both sides at some point in its life and the drivers rear quarter has had some filler work (possibly from a dent?). Not the best of finishes but its got the job done and is certainly useable in its current condition. These cars are only going one way so investing in a decent paint job would really set it off if you wanted it to be perfect. The rear arches on the outer and inners are solid and so are the front wings. I genuinely cant find anything that I would find concerning or that needs attention.
The only questionable part of the bodywork is the sunroof or the lack of it. Inside the roof lining is still in place along with the winder for the sunroof. However, it has been replaced with a riveted in, home made panel. Obviously, this isn't ideal but it could easily be removed and returned to standard or perhaps you could put a proper non-sunroof skin on to it?
The interior is in good order but it has had a repair to the drivers seat bolster and the dash has the usual cracks in a couple of places. Its got a 12 button OBC fitted, power locks, electric mirrors and manual wind up front windows. The rear quarter windows are opening.
The car also comes equipped with a tow bar, which I would presume you would want to remove. It has standard 14" bottle top alloy wheels that have good tread.
The keen eyed amongst you will have also noticed that its been fitted with an LPG conversion. A switch inside the car enables it to run on either petrol or gas. I have only had it running on petrol and have not tested the LPG system.
A certificate for the LPG installation is included in the history file, which will be included with the car.
Quite a reasonable amount of service history is included in the folder along with the V5 document.
