Fender Strat-O-Sonic Crimson Red Transparent 2005 Electric Guitar

Here for sale we have a Fender Strat-O-Sonic HH in Crimson Red Transparent finish. A rare oddity from Fender's past, the Strat-O-Sonic was part of the American Special Series, and was only available for three years between 2003 and 2006, with three finishes and 3 pickup configurations to choose from. This instrument was made in the USA in 2005 and features a bolt-on construction comprising a Chambered Honduran Mahogany body, Maple neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted including a Fender Tech-Tonic 6-saddle locking bridge/tailpiece, and Fender/Schaller Deluxe Staggered sealed tuning machines. A pair of Fender 'Black Dove' humbucking pickups are installed, and are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, master volume and master tone controls. 

The Maple neck plays very well, with Fender's popular Modern 'C' profile filling the hand nicely for a substantial yet articulate playing experience across the register. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers and provides a smooth and durable playing surface  for the player to explore. The Abalone fret markers are a nice addition which add a sense of luxury to the playing experience. The 24.75" scale length is a departure for Fender, and makes for a slinkier playing feel whilst making the fingerboard feel easily manoeuvrable. The control layout remains familiar for Stratocaster players, and is well placed for small adjustments while playing.

The pair of Fender 'Black Dove' humbucking pickups installed in this guitar deliver a thick and full-bodied tone thanks to their high output. The neck pickup is round and smooth, perfectly capturing your lead lines and solos and pushing your playing front and centre. The bridge pickup is of course brighter, piercing through even the densest of mixes to provide a searing distortion tone that is well suited to rock, metal and grunge genres. The controls are nice and simple whilst offering comprehensive control of your tone. An interesting variation on the Stratocaster that provides a unique playing experience and a thick, heavy tone not often associated with Fender guitars.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall excellent condition. The tip of the headstock presents a small indentation which does not pierce the finish. Very light scratching to the front face can be seen under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. 

Neck: Overall excellent condition. The rear of the neck shows two small indentations behind the 1st fret. These are very lightly felt under the thumb but do not negatively impact playability. Any other markings to the neck and fingerboard are difficult to discern. 

Body: Overall very good condition. The bottom edge presents a mild chip by the forearm contour which exposes the wood. This is not seen from the front face. The pickguard shows mild scratching consistent with light playwear. All surfaces show light scratching under direct light, as is common with high gloss finishes. 

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is moderate material remaining for any future fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
