1774 German Manuscript Document Transcript
Riga, Livonia, Russian Empire

Up for auction is a three-page manuscript document produced in 1774 in Riga, Livonia (present-day Latvia), a part of the Russian Empire at the time. The document is in the German language. It is signed by George Browne and other officials. George Browne was an Irish soldier opf fortune who became full general in the Russian service. Eventually he was appointed Governor of Livonia by the Czar. I don't read German, so I cannot tell what the document is all about. But it must be an important historical document.

Size of folded sheet: 8" x 13"

Condition: Some age toning, mainly around the right and bottom edges. Signs of old folds and some soiling on the reverse. Otherwise in very good condition for its age
