The American $1 Coin and Currency Set is a distinctive pairing of the 2014 Native American $1 Coin produced by the U.S. Mint and a $1 note produced by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, both presented in a tri–fold folder. The American $1 Coin and Currency Set contains information about Native American history as it intersects with the Lewis and Clark Expedition. A Certificate of Authenticity is printed on the package and a sleeve is included.

Each Native American $1 Coin has a common obverse (heads) design retaining the central figure of the Sacagawea design first produced in 2000 with the inscriptions “LIBERTY” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.”

The 2014 reverse (tails) design commemorates how Native American hospitality ensured the success of the Lewis and Clark expedition. It depicts symbols of a Native American man offering a pipe, while his wife offers provisions of fish, corn, roots and gourds. In the background is a stylized image of the face of William Clark’s compass highlighting “NW,” the area in which the expedition occurred. It includes the required inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “$1.”
