Perfect gift for the retro music lover’s room! This is a one of a kind handmade table lamp. It stands about 15” tall on a brass lamp base with a diameter of about 3” at base. The light source is a genuine old Philco “shirt pocket”transistor radio in a black leather case, circa 1961. (Case snaps on and off, and radio is inside it with its original front and a back. Therefore, radio light can be used with or without the case. It’s attractive and eye catching either way!) The radio battery compartment inside the radio has been removed and replaced with a nightlight bulb so that the light shines through front and back of the radio. Therefore, the RADIO itself is NOT OPERABLE. Perfect as a nightlight or as a desk/table lowlight source. On its own, even with light turned off, it’s a unique piece of pop art, too!

The brass base is worn-aged and there is some rust to bottom edges. The leather case is worn-aged, with some leather scuffs and light fraying. All this lends to its old retro appearance so make sure you enlarge photos and study them to see if you like/agree with retro appearance and condition. The lamp has an in-line off and on switch on the cording. Cord measures about 50”.

You will love this nod to yesteryear. Makes a great gift for any lover of retro decor and it’s one of a kind you won’t find anywhere else!

(Note that the model number is 802-whg, which I referenced and found that this model radio was made in 1961. )
