This incredible 200 year old leather bound antique book from 1820 (book is marked MDCCXXVII which denotes a 1728 date, possible the original edition date). Titled "The Book of Common Prayer" is a rare and uncommon find! Probably was an expensive leather bound at the time of the printing, the price is on the title page at one shilling and 8 pence, and includes the original publisher. Book contains sacrament rites and ceremonies for the Protestant Episcopal religion. It is bound in leather (bind is still tight and together) and was published by Henry L Megarey in New York. It has a personalization of the original owner from 1821, along with where they signed the book (I think). The book is written in ‘old’ English and includes special attributes that make it a very collectible Bible, book or English Historical item.

The subject matter of the book is religion and spirituality, specifically pertaining to the Protestant Episcopal denomination. Its year of printing adds to its historical significance, making it a must-have for any antique book or bible collector. This item falls under the categories of Books & Magazines and Antiquarian & Collectible.

Condition is good, even very good, for a 200 year old book especially. I did not see missing or torn pages, there is certainly some tanning of the pages and a stain from years and years ago, but it doesn’t detract from this historical book at all. Even the gold leaf is still very apparent on the pages ends.
