Up for sale, a 2004 Gibson J-200 jumbo in near-mint, 100% original condition, complete with the original hardshell case. This exceedingly rare limited edition Gibson Jumbo features a custom color gloss Wine Red nitro lacquer finish with a late 1960s-style cream pickguard, and this iteration of the J-200 platform was produced in sparingly small numbers exclusively for Gibson’s Japanese distributor, Yamano Gakki.

Boasting a solid X-braced Sitka spruce top, paired with flame maple back and sides, the model is described by Gibson as "King of the Flat-tops" is truly an impressive instrument both visually and sonically. Few acoustic instruments can match the sheer projection and power of a J-200, with its 17" in width, and a body depth of over 4 1/2". The tone of this particular Gibson Jumbo is extremely bold and even-sounding, with equal presence and power afforded each string. Offering more warmth than a new instrument, and emblematic of the richness of a soundboard that's had a couple of decades to open up and resonate, there's a relaxed growl and tons of projection that simply leaps from this instrument. Weighing 4lbs 10oz, this J-200 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with bronze 12-53 strings and easy-playing action.

The extremely rare gloss Wine Red nitro lacquer finish is accented by the cream pickguard and multi-ply binding, and cosmetic wear is limited to a scant few faint scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole, largely relegated to the back. The gloss on the neck profile is flawless and highlights dynamic figuring in the flame maple.
