Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker Satin Wine Red 2014 Electric Guitar

Here for sale we have a Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker in Satin Wine Red finish. Built in the USA in 2014, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a thin profile Mahogany body with a Maple top, Maple neck and 22 Medium Jumbo fret Rosewood fingerboard. This instrument is fitted with an adjustable Satin Chrome wraparound bridge, Graph Tech nut and Kluson Deluxe tuning machines with White buttons. The pickups installed are a pair of Gibson P-90s which are wired to a 3-way toggle switch, independent volume controls and independent tone controls. 

The Mahogany neck plays well, with the 50’s Rounded profile that fills the hand nicely without feeling at all cumbersome, providing a smooth and responsive playing experience in all registers. The Satin finish to the rear of the neck is very pleasant to the touch, and assists with smooth transitions up and down the neck, whilst the traditional 12" fingerboard radius feels as flat and consistent as ever, offering comfortable playability right the way up the neck. The Thin Profile body offers a lightweight alternative to the standard chunky Les Paul thickness, making this guitar great for longer durations of playing. The single body cutaway aids in access to the higher frets, whilst the contour on the back face provides extra comfort making this a guitar that sits against the body perfectly in both seated and standing positions. 

The pair of P-90 pickups installed in this guitar deliver a thick and full throaty tone, with a warm low end and driving midrange that is complimented well by crisp and cutting highs. The roundness of the neck pickup is perfect for solo tones, whilst the brightness of the bridge position will put your rhythm playing front and centre in the mix. The pickups are fantastic for pushing the front end of an amplifier, whilst offering excellent dynamic control. The simple control layout is not intrusive to the playing experience and offers comprehensive control of your tone. The volume and tone pots are highly interactive, responding very well to subtle changes.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition, the sides demonstrate circular scratching consistent with the use of a string-winder. This has revealed the wood beneath slightly by the G string tuning key. 

Neck: Overall excellent condition, it is difficult to discern any markings to the neck and fingerboard.

Body: Overall very good condition, all aspects of the body demonstrate very light scratching visible only under direct lighting at certain angles. This is most notable between the pickups towards the treble side waist. The treble side horn demonstrates moderate indentation, chipping the finish slightly. The finish has worn through on the treble side lower bout revealing wood beneath. The bottom side and edge demonstrates mild to moderate indentation, chipping the finish in places.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5/16" socket) not included.

Hardware: Fully functional with very light signs of wear.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
