Reason for sale:The car has required a lot of work in the last 4 months and has now developed an intermittent misfire, I have attempted to diagnose the misfire which presents itself as a small "hiccup" under load, on rare occasions the engine can cut out, however this only seems to happen when the fuel level is low or the car hasn't been used for a few days, and once restarted the car runs well. I have been told by a local Volvo specialist that this all sounds like the in-tank fuel pump is faulty.
When starting the car from cold, the exhaust blue-smokes for around 10 seconds, but then runs smoke-free throughout the day.
Other things worth mentioning are the tailgate gas struts which have failed (around £25 per side) and there is a small oil leak by the vacuum pump.
Taking all this into consideration, I have decided to part ways with the Volvo as I have another car and cannot justify spending any more on it.
