Very high grade NGC-certified coin from the Roman Empire. Valerian I was proclaimed Emperor
on the death of Gallus in AD 253. His reign was troubled with war again the Persians - he was captured
in AD 260 and held prisoner for the remainder of his life. The reverse of this coin features Valerian and Gallienus
together - indicating shared rule.
