For auction is a Chinese export blue and white miniature vase of baluster form with a tall neck and flared rim with arabesque decoration to the body and shoulder above a moulded lappet leaf pattern. A running oyster decoration to the neck. Recovered from the 'Vung Tau' shipwreck and auctioned at Christie's, Amsterdam in 1992. Lot numbers 748-763. Kangxi c. 1690.

Dimensions; H5 cm x D2.4cm

In good condition with abraded glaze and trace of red coral to the unglazed underside. The rim has a 5cm hairline and an associated mark, as shown in the photos' but not sure if this a production flaw or not. Miniscule flea bite to the rim just next to the blue paint dot.

THANK YOU FOR LOOKING.
