This exquisite chamberstick from Brannam is a rare find for collectors of vintage north devon pottery.

Made my Beauchamp Whimple, arguably one of the finest artists to have worked for Brannam.

Modelled as a lotus flower with the candle holder in the centre.

I’ve never seen another .

Stands 5 inches tall to the top of the handle. To the top of the lotus petals is about 4 inches.

In fabulous condition with no chips or cracks.

It appears that it may have had some tiny areas of glaze loss touched up on tips of petals and the tips of the candle holder. I say may as the colour match is spot on and I’m mentioning it only because I can see the fleabites of glaze loss, albeit identical to the surrounding areas in colour.

Possible small area of restoration to the thumb tab on the top of the handle as well, although I can’t be sure as if it is it is done very well.

As far as I can see that’s it though and overall on first appearance you would have thought it to be perfect!

Fully signed and dated to the base for C H Brannam Barum 1896

With initials BW for Beauchamp Whimple

A stand out piece and a fabulous addition to any collection.

Been in my collection for about 30 years now and only selling now regretfully because needs must.
