Superb and very unusual complimentary pair of confidently carved 16th century wooden figures or terms/caryatids in early costumes

Incredible quaint naive comical facial expressions

"King and Queen", royal court figures, early Punch and Judy-like figures, old married couple, iconic images

Very good colour and thick dark patination with well executed detailed carving

Difficult to tell what wood they are made of due to thick patination possibly oak or limewood which were often used for carving

Nice size for display - each measures 14 x 3 3/4 inches approx

Good very displayable condition with added fixings on back for wall hanging

Look very early - probably Elizabethan

Evidence of non active treated woodworm, minor losses and small old repair to tip of womens nose all inevitable for this age

Please study pictures for further details of description and condition

Very rare and I doubt you will find another pair like these

I need to reduce my collection because running out of wall space..
