I have had this item listed as a Buy It Now for $1,000.00.  I have decided to list it as an auction with an auction starting bid of $500.00 which is 50% off my Buy It Now price.

This is a listing for Nuphil Nu46 which consist of the 1971 New Zealand 7 Coin Proof Set in a First Day of Issue Cover.  This one is Number 94 of 100 produced on April 26, 1971 when the Proof Set were released or issued.  Only 5,000 Proof Sets Minted.  Number 94 of 100 produced on April 26, 1971 by Nuphil.  This Nuphil PNCover is 53 years old.  All things considered this is an extremely rare Proof Set in a very rare PNCover.

This is a NEW ZEALAND 1971 PROOF SET in the original plastic holder.  Only 5000 of these 1971 Proof Sets were minted.  This is a very low mintage that will only increase in value.  This is also the second proof set containing the New Zealand Proof One Dollar Coin.  In 1967 New Zealand produced 10 Proof Sets that contained the One Dollar Coin.  This is the second rarest of New Zealand's Seven (7) Coin Proof Sets.  This 1971 set contains proof versions of New Zealand's decimal coins struck at the Royal Mint in Llantrisant, Wales.  If you wanted a 1971 Proof Dollar you had to purchase this set as the Proof Dollar was only minted for the set. A total of only 5,000 Proof Dollars minted. RARE.

DESCRIPTION:

The Nu-Story Card describes the PNCover as follows:

Nu46 Nu-Storycard       100 issued Mar. 1, 1972

Issue price $US30.00  NZ$

Nuphil's Nu46 PNCover displays, in a blue carton, a New Zealand 1971 Proof Set of coins in the original case.  The coins have the same designs as the original decimal issue of 1967.  The reverse of the dollar is by William M. Gardner and the remainder by James Berry.  They were struck at the Royal Mint in Britain.  1971 was the first year of issue of full-proof decimal coins, and only 5,000 sets were struck.

For postage and registration fee, four stamps were chosen.  These are the 9-penny “P-N-C” Savings Bank centenary showing the half sovereign and dollar coins, the 8c Royal Society commemorative, the 10c “Royal” definitive, and the older 8c “N.Z. Flag” definitive.

The covers were back-stamped for delivery at Sydenham, and each is accompanied by it registration receipt matching the serial number.
