These are some of the most poignant survivors of their time.
These little glasses standing 3.75” tall were made by a company called Percy Handcock & Sons Ltd. The company's registered number was 826049 and came into being on the 11th of Feb 1938. It’s registered premises was 39, Holborn Viaduct, London, EC1A. A high ex was dropped on the viaduct somewhere between Oct 7th 1940 & 6th June 1941.
The company vanished. It’d be nice to think Percy and his sons made it through the war. But that’s research for some else.
They really need to go to someone who gets it. One has a tiny nibble. But I think it can be forgiven. Makers name on the bottom but wouldn’t photograph. Happy bidding.
