This figurine is called Amager Girl Knitting and was designed by Lotte Bentner. The Island of Amager is off the coast of Copenhagen and is known for its distinctive dress and costumes. This young girl is working intently on her knitting and has a lovely head covering in shades of gray with a white bow in the back. She is wearing a shawl-like blouse in gray with frilly white collar and cuffs. Her skirt is white.

She measures 6 inches tall, 3 3/4 inches wide and 3 3/4 inches deep. In mint condition--no chips, cracks or crazing. The underglaze is crisp and shiny. Marked on the bottom with the Royal Copenhagen crown and three wavy lines. The figurine's identification number and the painter's initials are also present.
