The TAIL WAGGERS CLUB - I Help My Pals – Vintage Silver
Coloured Dog Pendant/Medal – 26mm
Background: The Tailwaggers Club was founded in 1928 by
Captain Horace Hobbs to help to provide funds for the Royal Veterinary College
to support their work. Dogs that became members of The Tailwaggers Club
received a special collar medallion engraved with the Club’s logo and the motto
‘I help my pals’. In 1930, The
Tailwaggers Club was able to offer financial support to the newly-formed Guide
Dogs for the Blind.
Metal content: Unsure of the metal content? Numista states that these early
types are made from silver? This piece is definitely non-magnetic, and has a
natural patina that silver would take on over the years. To be safe, I will use
the term silver coloured, but if it is indeed silver then you have a bargain!
Condition: Excellent collectible grade with a really
pleasing uncleaned natural dark patina
