An art investor once said, "Always buy art that you like, and not art solely for investment.  If you buy art that you like and your art appreciates financially, then you have an appreciating asset that you like.  If the art depreciates financially, well, at least you have art that you like, even if it's not worth more money than when you purchased it".  That's my philosophy with knives like this; I buy only the ones that I really like - if they appreciate, I sell my duplicates and take some $ off the table.  If they don't appreciate in value, then at least I still have something that I like.

This classic style knife from Benchmade would look equally at home in your house, in the office, in the woods, in a museum, or on the battlefield. It's a folder that you can open smoothly and quickly.  It is an excellent Everyday Carry (EDC) Tactical design and will astonish you with its size, fit, and finish, proudly manufactured to extremely precise tolerances.  This is a rare and amazing piece of craftsmanship.

The AXIS Lock mechanism is a patented Benchmade exclusive and has been turning heads and winning fans ever since its introduction. A 100-percent ambidextrous design, AXIS gets its function from a small, hardened steel bar which rides forward and back in a slot machined into both steel liners. The bar extends to both sides of the knife, spans the liners, and is positioned over the rear of the blade. It engages a ramped, tang portion of the knife blade when it is opened. Two omega style springs, one on each liner, give the locking bar its inertia to engage the knife tang. As a result, the tang is wedged solidly between a sizable stop pin and the AXIS bar itself.

As "real knife people" know, Benchmade builds some of the world's most interesting knives.  They have made some very innovative and durable designs.  This particular knife is easy and comfortable to use while still holding the proud status of overachieving "workhorse".  If you pick this knife up, you'll quickly choose it as one of your favorites.  It's easy to believe that the knife could survive to serve several generations.  And while it's tough enough to use, it is also attractive enough to display.  This is definitely a classic Gold Class Benchmade with significant differences from the standard Benchmades sold these days.

This knife is a must-have for anybody that loves knives that are attractive and also really classy.  It has a presence that is hard to derive from the photos.  You must hold it in your hot little hands to believe it how good it feels.

This Benchmade knife is rarely seen on eBay or elsewhere for sale as brand new and unused, because most people hang onto these or use them every day out in the world.  This knife is in brand new condition. I am the original owner and purchased this brand new from Benchmade myself. It's just like buying it yourself from them a few years ago. Guaranteed authentic and unused.  And because this knife is so tempting to use, it is hard to find in such good condition.  See the pictures and video for more detail.

Brand new and untouched until this auction.  The blade retains its factory edge and is very sharp, as you would expect with a new knife.

Kept in a climate-controlled, smoke free environment. The pictures and video show exactly what you are getting. Because this was never used, it is brand new. This is a rare chance to grab this very sought-after and fresh-in-the-box knife.  And Benchmade will sharpen the knife anytime that you need them to, as it has "Lifesharp" services.  It also carries a lifetime guarantee from Benchmade.

And speaking of the knife, it's a really beautiful piece, and the blade is up to any task you send its way if you decide to do EDC. The form factor feels wonderful in your hand.

I will pack this carefully to protect it before mailing it to your address via USPS. Ask anyone who has done business with me about how well I pack these knives up.  Or better yet, just read the feedback from my multiple repeat buyers.  Incidentally, I will combine shipments to save shipping costs if you purchase multiple items.

Please contact me to ask any questions you might have and thanks for your interest. I'm not a knife dealer; I'm just an enthusiast who is thinning out his collection. Bid without worry - check out my 100% feedback in my eBay profile. And note that many folks buy from me more than once. Keep your eyes open as I will be selling several duplicates in my collection over the coming weeks, most of which are limited and special editions.  Note that I do not accept returns, except in the case of damaged items, which are insured through the shipping company.  So, if you bid, be prepared to own the item.

US-based shipping only.  Buyer must pay within 2 days of the auction ending or the knife auction will be canceled and re-run, and they will not be allowed to bid in future auctions.  I hate to sound hard-nosed, but while the eBay community has great buyers, it also has some slacker buyers.

In the event of any conflicts within the description, please use the photos and video as your guide here, as these are actual video and photos of the knife itself. There are no stock photos - all photos and video are of the actual knife. Every effort is made to be accurate in the description, but good faith errors happen.

One comment on an unfortunate trend I have seen on eBay lately. Occasionally, bidders will bid up an item, and then "retract" their bid because they put in the "wrong amount". I'm not sure why people do this, but it's disruptive. Please do not bid unless you intend to purchase the items; if you retract your bid, I will block you from bidding on any future items. I don't want to sound like a jerk, but this process of bidding up and retracting inconveniences the other bidders and me. So please don't bid unless you mean it!

NOTE:    As the purchaser, it is your responsibility to be familiar with your local laws around knife blade length and other factors.

Thanks again for your interest!
