Although unsigned, the booklet comes from the estate of Karl Heinrich Althaus. It is also his handwriting, and he also mentions his father-in-law at the beginning: "On 1. Karl Heinrich Althaus was on 1. January 1806 in Hanover as the son of Karl Philipp Christian Althaus (* 6. April 1775 in Gehmen, died 28. March 1869 in Hanover), from 1805 to 1869 Evangelical Reformed pastor in Hanover, and Friederike, née Born with a limp.

He received his doctorate in 1837 in Halle (dissertation: "Prolegomena de summo in literarum studio fine et de disciplinarum nexu. Particula I"; that is, on the introduction to the end of the study of literature and the connection of disciplines) and completed his habilitation in Berlin in 1838. From 1837 he was a private lecturer at the University of Berlin, and in 1859 he became a professor there.

From 1837 onwards, Althaus was also a member of the so-called Doctor's club ("Doctorklubb") of the Left Hegelians, which united the criticism of religion and the Prussian state. The young Karl Marx (1818-1883), Karl Friedrich Köppen (1808-1863), Bruno Bauer (1809-1882) and Adolf Friedrich Rutenberg (1808-1869) also visited there.

She was the widow of the professor of philosophy in Halle, Johann Georg Mußmann (1795-1833), whom she married on 23 June 1811. September 1830 (son of the master blacksmith in Reichenberg near Danzig, Johann Friedrich David Mußmann). This marriage remained childless.

Karl Heinrich Althaus died on 22. October 1886 at the age of 80 in Berlin.

-Heinrich Georg Althaus (* 25. February 1845 in Berlin, died on the 31st October 1894 in Berlin), Kgl. District judge and district court judge in Berlin, who was appointed on 2 April 1884 in Berlin she married Marie Adelgunde Auguste von Dechend, née on the 22nd November 1855 in Berlin as the daughter of the Reichsbank President Hermann von Dechend (1814-1890) and Adelgunde, née.
