DESCRIPTION: vi, [7] 8-607, [9] pages : illustrations ; 23 cm. Engraved steel plate engravings with tissue guards. Extensive section "What is Said of It" at back comprised of about 50 brief reviews by eminent gentlemen, educators, and ministers.
CONDITION NOTES: GOOD. Solid page and cover attachment, yet a shaky gathering at the frontispiece, else VERY GOOD. Back hinge holding, but paper torn, possibly repaired. Frayed caps, bumped corners, spots to spine. Pages clean without marks, creases, or tears.
BINDING: Green cloth, decoratively tooled in Victorian style front and back with black floral border, and front with a pictorial title vignette of a shepard at rest. Gilt tooled title on spine.

An early version of what we are familiar with from Tony Robbins, Dale Carnegie and others. Plenty of life advice. Tends to resemble more the Letters of Lord Chesterfield than more modern self-help specialists.
