Peter Michael Grosz (* 22. May 1926 in Berlin; † 29. September 2006 in PRINCETON ) was an American physicist and aviation historian.

Live and act:Peter Grosz came from a musical family (his father was the painter George Grosz and his younger brother is the American musician Marty Grosz) and spent his childhood in Berlin until 1933. In October 1933 he followed his father to the USA. He studied physics at Harvard, where he graduated in 1950. In 1952 he moved with his wife Lilian to PRINCETON , New Jersey, where he worked in various research laboratories. His two children predeceased him.

Peter Grosz wrote three books and more than 220 articles and monographs about aviation development up to the end of the First World War. He was an active member of several historical societies and a valued advisor to leading aviation museums. From the very beginning, he supported the development of the aviation department of the German Museum of Technology in Berlin with his knowledge and connections. In 2004 he received the Grand Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in recognition of his significant donations and work. In 2007, his wife Lilian handed over his estate - the largest private collection of archive material on the history of German aviation technology from 1909 to 1918 - to the German Museum of Technology in Berlin.
