Using Mastering tape (which is cheaper) is often use as an alternative you will over time hear the wear of the heads (Duller signal) on your machine which in the short term save you money but will cost you in the long term with finding replacement parts for your machine. 

The tape loops come in a plastic tube for easy dispensing and to minimise sharp bends and damage.
