......we have acquired a not insubstantial quantity of ex-publishers stock , from the renowned music art-publishers EDITION EUTERPE , dating to the 1930s.

there still exists a fragment from the publishers packaging  ( the parcel seems to have been on its way to Muller & Schade , Bern )  , which is postmarked 18 Jan 1935.

All stock is in "AS NEW" condition , although some titles are showing  minor signs of age with light-fading or toned paper  , however , for 75 year-old stock , we must describe as NEAR MINT.

Paper and art - design was always an important part of the production process for Euterpe and Cairati , and this is self evident in many of the editions , with beautiful paper and art-cover quality.

The stocks we hold are fairly reasonable at the point of listing , but they are finite. When this lot has gone into the world , it has gone forever............

Alfredo Cairati b. 18-8- 1875 in Milan , d. 2-2- 1960 in Zürich
 EDITION EUTERPE , was founded in 1925 and continued to publish over 100 works until his death in 1960. His ethos of “....artistic production of musical works , in terms of printing and engraving etc ....” is born out in the wonderful papers and cover art that adorn the scores. Most are printed in gross – quarto size , and many examples are archived in the Zentralbibliothek , Zurich , along with many manuscripts and personal letters.
