This in-line pre filter has a 30 micron stainless steel gauze filter that stops debris from entering the delicate internals of your turbo and therefore greatly increasing bearing life.

Turbo chargers have very delicate internal bearings that are subjected to incredible heat and can be damaged within a matter of seconds by small particles in the oil, most turbo failures are due to oil contamination and this is not helped by the fact your engine oil filter can only filter down to 100 microns therefore the 30 micron gauze in the turbo oil filters greatly reduces the risk of contamination.
