Gregg Press First Hardback Editions
Description: Three hardback books published by Gregg Press in 1985. No statements of printing, these may be a later printing but not all of the book published at the end of this series had printing statements and I didn't find anyone offering copies for sale that stated a specific printing date. The Gregg Press edition were the first hardback editions of these titles. Signed by the author on the title page of each book without inscription or personalization.Signed by the cover artist on the title page of each book without inscription or personalization. The first three books in an excellent series that eventually had six books.

Note on Gregg Press printings: Many of the Gregg Press SF books were printed in editions of only 200 to 300 copies. Quite a few of these were sold to libraries, so finding non-exlibrary copies of all the books can be challenging. Some of the books that sold well were reprinted. It is possible to tell on many of those that were reprinted if a book is a first printing or not but not in all cases. Most first printings stated this on the copyright page but according to Hartwell, a few first printings had no statement of first printing and a few reprint runs didn't get the first printing statements removed.
Condition: Bindings - very good plus to near fine, slight to minor bumping at top and/or bottom of spine, one corner very very very slightly bumped, very slight marking of the cloth covering two of the books, page edges very very slightly soiled, minor blue pen scribble on the front free endpaper of book two. Dust jackets - very good minus to very good plus, not price clipped, in dust jacket protectors, Vol 1 - moderate edgewear, torn with slight chipping at top of spine, minor damage at bottom of spine, minor soiling and rubbing, Vol 2 - quite a bit of edgewear and wrinkling along the edges, minor damage at top of spine with light chipping, minor rubbing and soiling, price label on front flap, Vol 3 - minor edgewear and wrinkling. minor rubbing and soiling, crease across the top corner of the front flap.

Note on first editions: If this book is listed as a first edition, it will also be a first printing. We do not consider later printings to be first editions.
We know the difference between a publisher's edition and a book club edition and will always disclose book club editions. If we aren't sure, we will so indicate. |

Note on condition descriptions: In our written descriptions, we use the standard professional bookseller's condition grading on our items (fine, near fine, very good, good, poor).
We believe that you deserve to know exactly what you will be getting if you buy our item. We describe each item carefully. If the condition description doesn't mention a remainder mark or ex-library markings, they do not exist.

Payment: We accept all forms of PayPal Payment. Unless a delay in payment is agreed to by us before purchase, payment is expected within 48 hours of our sending an invoice. Buyers taking more than 48 hours to pay without that agreement will not receive feedback.
Note:Paying with a PayPal echeck (bank or other financial institution transfer) will delay shipping until PayPal informs us that the transfer has completed. This can take 4 or 5 days for US banks (occasionally longer) and up to 2 weeks for international (usually more like 11 days). Payment by PayPal funds or credit card gets immediate shipping. |

Shipping and Packing: General Information: We always ship in sturdy new boxes with premium heavy duty packing tape, bubblewrap and filler to keep the item away from the sides of the box, unless requested otherwise.

All shipments will include delivery confirmation. Shipments valued at $250 and over will have to be signed for where that shipping option is available (all US and some international destinations). Combined Shipping: We are happy to combine shipping on multiple items and will charge you only a small amount over the actual postage cost to pay for packaging materials. Shipping to US Destinations: We normally ship items using the US Post Office. If you would prefer a different shipping method or carrier, let us know.

Shipping to International Destinations: We are happy to ship to international destinations and have shipped items to many countries around the world. Please note that the USPS no longer offers any international surface shipping methods. We have resumed shipping by First Class Mail International to the following countries for lower cost items because tracking is again being provided; Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. eBay frequently overcharges for International Postage, we will refund excess shipping paid once the label is printed and we know the final cost.

A Note On Customs: When customs forms are required for a shipment, we fill them out honestly, stating that the contents are merchandise and giving the price you paid for the item (not including the shipping) as the value. Please do not ask us to do otherwise. Take any customs duty that you will have to pay into consideration before making your purchase.
Please note that many countries have restrictions on the import of certain goods and sometimes on the maximum value that can be shipped to the country by various shipping methods. Priority Mail International insurance cannot be purchased for all countries and some limit the amount of insurance that can be purchased (default indemnity coverage seems to apply to all countries). Shipping History: We have shipped well over 3,000 packages (containing more than 5,700 items), with more than 500 of those packages going to international destinations, since we started selling on in 2002. As of September 16, 2009, we have had only five packages reported as lost, three to U.S. destinations and two to international destinations (Australia and Spain - destinations we have also shipped to successfully many times). We have not had a report of a book damaged in transit since shortly after we started selling (it took us a couple of damaged shipments to learn not to pack books in boxes that were too tight a fit). |

California Sales Tax Items shipped to addresses outside California are not subject to sales tax.
Unless you are a reseller with a valid California Seller's Permit buying this item to resell, we are required by California law to collect sales tax for all items shipped to or delivered to addresses in California or picked up from our location. The checkout system cannot handle the complexities of sales tax in California where the sales tax rate varies by where the item is being delivered. We have setup the shipping calculator to charge sales tax at 9.00% for those who do not want to wait for us to invoice you. If you wait for our invoice, we will adjust the sales tax to be correct for the location you say we will be shipping to.
California resellers need to provide us with your permit number before we can remove the sales tax from your invoice. |
