This is the sheet music of a college song for OCCIDENTAL COLLEGE  in LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA titled "HAIL TO OCCIDENTAL" Words by D. S. HAMMACK, class of 1905 and music by W. THOMSON, Jr. class of 1910.  Music and words are included on one page. It is from a 1931 book of western college songs. This music is in great condition - of course the paper has that lovely yellowing color of old books. When framed, this would make a wonderful Christmas, birthday or graduation gift for any OXY student, graduate or alumni. Page measures approximately 7 X 10.5".

Comes from a smoke free home.

THIS IS AN ORIGINAL PIECE OF MUSIC, NOT A COPY. This is an actual page from an old song book! Slight variations from the picture may occur.

Item will be carefully mailed in a stiff mailer.

OCCIDENTAL COLLEGE

Founded in 1887, Occidental is one of the oldest liberal arts colleges on the West Coast.

On March 17, 1887 the Los Angeles Times carried the first public mention of Occidental in the headline: "Los Angeles Fastest Growing City in the West to Have a New University."

Although founded by a group of Presbyterian ministers and laymen, Occidental has had no formal religious association since 1910. Key among the founders was the Reverend William Stewart Young, who served for fifty years as Secretary of the Board of Trustees, and at one time was Acting President of the College.

Another founder was the Reverend Samuel H. Weller, Occidental’s first President. Its first student body was made up of 27 men and 13 women.

The initial location of the College was in Boyle Heights, following by Highland Park in 1898, and its current location in Eagle Rock in 1914.

"At Occidental's feet today, our homage now we bring, And while of off'rings there we lay, Let hearts and voices ring....."
