Doug Wildey Poster Print Johnny Behind The Deuce Saloon Poker Cowboys Western

Doug Wildey was a cartoonist and comic book artist best known for his creation of the 1964 ABC TV animated series, Johnny Quest, for Hanna Barbera Productions.  He wrote for almost all of the comic book publishers and his work was repeated between 1970 and 1974 by Marvel Comics.  He also created the comic book feature "Rio" but then turned back to Johnny Quest.  Doug Wildey died in Las Vegas of heart failure in 1994.

Prior to Doug's death, my client secured Doug's agreement to reproduce signed prints of this particular painting -- not sure of the medium he used for the original piece of work, but I think it was acrylic paint.

Doug did not place the title of the print on the master copy, and subsequently the prints from the master.  However, he did formally entitle the image, "Johnny Behind the Deuce," and intended to handwrite the title on each copy as he signed it.  Unfortunately, he passed away just five days after the prints came from the printer and wasn't able to sign a single one of them.

The scene depicts cowboys and gunslingers at a saloon, playing a card game.

The entire poster measures 29.5" long by 19.5" tall.

I am selling these for a recently-closed museum in Tombstone, AZ.
