The non-precious bimetallic commemorative coin dedicated to Ukrainian Chernivtsi region was launched in 2015. The piece shows the smallest province of the modern day Ukraine which was established in Northern Bukovina in 1940. The territory lies in the western part of the country and has borders with Romania and Moldova with the high influence of both. The 5-hryvnia coin bears the emblem of the province on its “golden” field while the name of the territory and the date of the establishment are mentioned on the “silver” border. The obverse of the collectible shows the denomination and issuing information on the border, and the central place is occupied by the relief images of Chernivtsi region’s landmarks, the picturesque Residence of Metropolitans and Khotyn Fortress in particular. The year of producing is minted among them as well.
