These Water Sensitive Paper Cards (20301-2N) come in a package of 50 and can be used for the quick evaluation of sprays in the field, including spray distribution, swath widths, droplet densities, and spray penetration into crops.

The Water Sensitive Paper Cards are rigid pieces of paper that are yellow in color. They have specially coated surfaces that will stain dark blue when exposed to water-like droplets. Just place the cards in the target area before you begin spraying. The upper surface will be stained dark blue when exposed by water. The opposite side of the Water Sensitive Cards is water repellent.

Here are some examples of how to use Water Sensitive Paper:
  1. Aerial Application for detecting swath width and evaluating effects of propwash, wing tip vortexes, and nozzle placement on distribution. Cards can be attached to a horizontal support slightly above the ground or plant canopy.
  2. Orchard Sprayers for evaluating spray distribution and spray penetration throughout the tree. Cards can be stapled to leaves in the upper, center, and lower portions of the tree.
  3. Field Sprayers for evaluating spray distribution and droplet density along the boom. Staple cards to a board and place across a section of the boom swath.
  4. Backpack / Handheld Sprayers for evaluating spray distribution and droplet density. Cards can be placed across one run width.
You can visually inspect the spray cards for evaluation by counting the droplets using a pocket lens. Through quickly glancing at the card you can determine areas of over-application or under-application, dripping nozzles, or clogged or defective nozzles.
