Exo Terra Porcelain Wire Lamp -

Heat resistant porcelain socket, designed to withstand up to 150 Watts (PT2060) / 250 Watts (PT2062).

Ideal for use with Ceramic Heater, self-ballasted mercury vapour bulbs, and all types of regular incandescent bulbs.

The wire guard also prevents unnecessary heat build-up.

The only lamp that meets all safety regulations when used in conjunction with the Exo Terra Ceramic Heater.

Combine the Wire Light with the Exo Terra Light Bracket to suspend it securely above any glass terrarium.

Key Features:

Installation hanging from the ceiling or an elevated platform:

  1. Screw light bulb into the Exo Terra® Wire Light. TIP: apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the threads on the base of the light bulb before screwing it in. This will make it easier to unscrew the bulb when it is time to replace it.
  2. Insert Hanger into the mounting brackets located on either side of the lamp socket (A).
  3. Suspend from ceiling or other elevated platform using a chain or other recommended suspension method. Ensure the lamp is positioned over the top metal screen portion of your terrarium. Failure to do so could result in a possible fire hazard.
  4. Keep unit out of reach of children. Keep unit away from curtains or other flammable objects.

Wire lamps available: Small (for Heat Wave 40-150W lamps) and Large (250W & Solar Glo lamps).

Exo Terra Ceramic Heat Emitter -

A radiant heat source which creates a natural sun-like heat with a uniform pattern.

The long wave infrared heat produced by this emitter will warm reptiles very efficiently.

It also increases the ambient air temperature in the terrarium.

Infrared heat penetrates the scales and skin tissue, promoting health and healing as it widens the blood vessels and increases blood circulation.

You are only to use these with the specially designed Exo Terra Wire Light.

Key Features:

  • 100% heat efficiency
  • Emits a natural "sun-like" infrared heat
  • No light emitted, does not disturb normal photo periods (day/night)
  • Solid ceramic element, suitable for humid environments

Ceramic heaters available in: 40 W, 60 W, 100 W, 150 W, 250 W

Reptiles and amphibians are ectotherm, or so called "cold-blooded".

This means they have to regulate their body-temperature using heat from an external source, rather than generating their own body temperature like warmblooded animals do.

Reptiles need to thermo-regulate their body temperature by assimilating direct radiant heat from the sun while basking, or by soaking up conductive heat from surfaces such as rocks or forest floor heated by the sun.
