Description - Offered for sale an original dry point etching by the listed Canadian artist Malte Sterner. The artist was known for dry point etchings depicting the vast Canadian landscape. Offered today a rare dry point etching depicting a solitary windswept pine tree on the shoreline of a pristine Muskoka lake. The etching measures 4 1/4" wide by 6" high (plate) and the original ebony frame measures 10 1/2" by 12 1/2" . The etching is signed "Malte Sterner" front lower left in the plate and titled "Sentinal Point" and signed in script front lower right in pencil below the plate. The etching is numbered 9 of 100 in pencil below the plate. The etching plate is in very good condition. The sheet has old hing marks with paper losses verso and there is a slight wave in the papers surface. I have added a new acid free mount and foam core backing. This beautiful etching is ready to hang and enjoy.
