This set was issued by the Czechoslovakian government-in-exile in London on 15th August 1945 to honour Czechoslovakian servicemen who had died fighting for the liberation of their homeland under the flags of other Allied nations in World War 2. 

The stamps depict:

• Major Miroslav Novák (1906-1944)
• Captain Otakar Jaros (1912-1943)
• Lieutenant Stanislaw Cimprich (1916-1942)
• Lieutenant Jirí Král (1910-1940)
• Sergeant Josef Gabčík (1912-1942)
• Squadron commander Alois Vašátko (1908-1942)
• Corporal Franticek Adámek (1919-1941)
