On offer today is a splendid genuine Birmingham Mother of Pearl Handled Silver Bladed Letter Opener. The handle is made out of Mother of pearl and is in fantastic condition for its age. The Solid Silver blade is fully hallmarked with the letter N for 1862 along with the Lion and the Crown and the Makers mark which is G.U. The Mother of Pearl handle on this particular letter opener is pristine as the photos reflect and looks very special. The marks are deep, clear and crisp on this piece. The blade is beautifully crafted. The letter opener is 19 cm in length and weighs a hefty 32 grammes.
