If you are thinking about investing in a high end, name brand photo editing software, then you should know that all of these large corporations that make professional grade software are switching pricing models to a subscription based model. It is no longer enough to just pay one high price to use their software, now you have to pay a high price EVERY YEAR and continue to pay it as long as you want that software to work. And if you stop paying, you can no longer access the files you created until you cough up more money. We think that is absurd and criminal. Fire the big giants, and go with this type of software. Low priced, but fully featured. This is the full version of LightZone, the professional photo editing suite, this is not trial or limited in anyway.

LightZone is professional-level digital darkroom software for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux, that includes RAW processing and editing. Rather than using layers in the way that other photo editors do, LightZone lets the user build up a stack of tools which can be rearranged, readjusted, turned off and on, and removed from the stack. It's a completely non-destructive editor, where any of the tools can be re-adjusted or modified later — even in a different editing session. A tool stack can even be copied to a batch of photos at one time. LightZone always operates in a 16-bit linear color space with the wide gamut of ProPhoto RGB.

While many of LightZone's tools are familiar ones, they also have shared, multiple modification possibilities built in that amplify their power and flexibility. LightZone also offers some unusual tools for tonal control — meaning brightness, contrast, shadows, highlights, etc. Some are inspired by the Zone System, and some are inspired by HDR tone-mapping. These tools put LightZone in a class by itself for working with black-and-white imagery. They're very useful for color photos, too, especially in mixed lighting situations.

LightZone was a pioneer in selective editing using vector based regions creation. Pixels can also be selected by color and/or brightness ranges. These selection features allow users to edit only a portion of an image in a flexible system that is extremely user friendly and intuitive.

The combination of the individual tools' inherent flexibility, the flexibility of the Tool Stack, its completely non destructive editing in a 16-bit wide gamut color space, and its intuitive GUI, make LightZone a remarkable alternative for those not entirely comfortable with other photo editing software.

LightZone is a "Non-destructive" editor and does not automatically change the original file. So you can always go back to the original unless you choose to destroy it in some other way - like copying over it or deletiing it. Whenever you edit an image, it will not overwrite the original, rather create a new file, so you never have to worry about losing your original files.

Lightzone creates JPEG files with references to the original file location and documents all the changes made to it during editing. Because those files contain the full "edit history", you can always undo your edits or build upon them in another edit at a later time. And since all the transformations are based on the original raw image, there is no loss of quality on your subsequent future edits.

Lightzone is every bit as powerful as software that literally costs 100 times the cost of a LightZone CD. If you are into digital photography, you need LightZone.

All items are shipped by USPS first class mail. In an effort to keep our costs down, that are passed along as low prices to you, all of our disks are packaged and shipped in economic sleeves and mailers. All of our disks are labeled with a clean label and some graphics. The disks are made this way for speed and cost, which translates into lower cost for you. We focus our efforts on the quality of the material on the disk. We do not believe in charging you an extra 3 or 4 dollars like some companies out there just to throw in a 25 cent plastic case and slap a color label on an item. We believe you purchase for content, and ours is the best, although we still believe you will be pleased with the presentation.

PLEASE READ ABOUT SHIPPING TIMES:

The estimated delivery dates shown above are ebay's estimates, not ours. Sometimes ebay's dates are completely unrealistic. Every effort is made to get your item out the next day, but once it leaves us, we ask that you please understand that we do not guarantee delivery by any date, since the USPS does not give us a guarantee either. Below is our estimates on what to expect:

USA CUSTOMERS: Most times, your package will arrive in about 1 week after we ship them depending on where you are at. However, lately the Post Office it seems has not been very cooperative with us and we've had a couple of customers wait a few days longer than that. If the item does not arrive, please email us directly and let us know, and we will make it right.

NON-USA CUSTOMERS: Same deal above, except your packages typically have been taking about 2 weeks or so after we ship them. We've noticed that maybe 20% of overseas customers have been waiting as long as 4+ weeks for these shipments. The only explanation we can come up with is that it must be stuck in some container in some dock waiting on customs clearance. It happens, and for those 20% of customers, we apologize, but there is very little we can do about that. Your disk will arrive or we will replace it.

Multiple items purchased by the same customer may or may not be shipped in the same package, at our discretion. We do not offer any additional discounts on multiple items other than the ones noted above.

Feedback Policy:

Please offer us a chance to fix any problems before leaving us negative feedback for any reason by emailing us first with your problem. The only thing we ask from our customers is that if they have a problem, that they give us a chance to fix the problem for them before they leave bad feedback. If negative feedback is left without any prior communication, we will assume you are no longer interested in communicating and working things out.
