The book was a collection of illustrations by Heath, compiled from various sources. The illustrations depict a variety of caricatures and comic scenes from all walks of British life.
Henry Heath was a draughtsman, etcher and lithographer who produced mainly
caricatures based on his own drawings. He was the brother of William Heath,
whose style he closely followed.
