Self-Ballasted Mercury Vapour Lamp 80, 100, 125 & 160 Watt ES Screw Thread Fitting (Outer Packaging may vary) Designed as a basking lamp for larger vivaria in which the reptile has sufficient room to move into and out of the basking area to regulate its temperature. Providing the benefit of natural sunlight and the correct balance of ultra violet light including both UVA and UVB, visual light and infrared heat in one easy to install lamp. This mercury vapour lamp is a full spectrum light to promote appetite, colour and calcium absorption through Vitamin D3 production, and most importantly to prevent metabolic bone disease. Important for reptiles development and health. Aids the synthesis of Vitamin D3. Helps prevent metabolic bone disease. Stimulates reproduction. Provides UVB, UVA visible light & Infrared (heat) energy from a single lamp No external ballast required. Important:- Do not use with a thermostat. Best suited to medium to large vivariums with a minimum height of 30" and must be suspended vertically. Do not use this lamp any closer than 30cm for 80w,100w, 125w lamps and for 160w lamps minimum should be 60cm + .This is the distance to the animal not the floor of the enclosure. Example the back of the tortoises shell. This is the minimum safe distance to avoid over exposure Lamp should be used with ceramic screw holder and guard, or clamp lamp with a guard(minimum diameter 20cm)
