ENGRAVING
~Vintage Book Collection~

(Box for illustration only - NOT PROVIDED)

Engraving is a unique form of art with a very rich and detailed history dating back over half a millennium with the earliest known engraving dating back to 1446. Engraving was a historically important method of producing images on paper, both in artistic printmaking, and also for commercial reproductions and illustrations for books and magazines Engraving can take place on a number of materials such as copper or zinc plate to wood panels and is also used to cover several printmaking techniques, such as etching, stipple engraving or mezzotint.

Collected together here for the first time on one amazing data DVD are 84 rare, vintage books on the subject of engraving. Includes texts showcasing some of the great engravers of history such as Albrecht Durer, Andrea Mantegna and Hans Holbein, studies of schools, styles and techniques of engraving, many examples of some of the finest engravings produced and also a special selection of books concerning Japanese wood engravings.

Published in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, each book here, in PDF format, is a 300dpi scan of the original pages so you will be reading each book exactly as intended.
