Guan Yin is the bodhisattva associated with compassion. One Buddhist legend presents Guanyin as vowing to never rest until she had freed all sentient beings from samsara or reincarnation. Guanyin is immensely popular among Chinese Buddhists. She is generally seen as a source of unconditional love and more importantly as a savior.
