According to Myler, "The Myler Snaffle mouthpiece works well for beginning horses, working primarily off the tongue and bars".   The mouthpiece is made from Cyprium.   It is composed mainly of copper and brass.   Brass improves the strength of the metal while the copper promotes salivation to make the horse's mouth softer and more responsive. The rings have hooks (slots) for fixed attachment of the headstall and reins.   This provides leverage action, allowing the rider to use less pressure than a traditional ring bit and are "very encouraging for horse to relax at poll".     "Mylers" and "Toklat" are marked on the rings.
This bit is used but in very good condition.   It has some marks from normal use and the copper has some normal discoloration, but nothing that should effect its performance in any way.   On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being new, mint condition, I would give this bit an 8.   A nice quality bit!
