For your consideration an antique solid silver English hallmarked mounted glass perfume or perhaps smelling salts bottle of smaller proportions. It dates to the end of the Victorian era.

Please view the pictures above as they hopefully show all in detail.

The glass bottle is cylindrical but the inside is 'waisted' and narrows near to the base.
The lid is hallmarked with the makers mark 'CM' for C C May & Sons, the anchor for Birmingham, the date letter 'x' for 1897, and the lion denoting sterling silver.
The top is nicely engraved with a pattern and the date '1900'. There is what appears to be a name engraved near to the hallmarks. Seems to be 'Lina', but not 100% sure.

The bottle is 6.3 cms long.

The glass is fine other than a very small chip at the base edge.
The silver screw mount is fine (not hallmarked).
The silver top has some small dents around the edge, as pictured.

The inner lid has a cork in situ; likely to be a replacement after all this time.
