For sale is a Soligor 400mm f6.3 lens. This is the Tokina version which is technically a rebadged Tokina RMC 400mm f6.3, do not confuse it with the way lower quality Sun and Komine versions of the same lens, this version is far superior to those. The lens comes with both caps, and will be packed with care.
The lens barely shows any sign of age and use. The focus and the iris works well, the lenses are clean.
The lens comes with external M42 mount, which can be adapted easily on almost all digital cameras including Canon EOS, Sony A or E mount, Fuji, Pentax and can be adapted on Nikon cameras but you have to keep in mind that due to the longer flange distance you will have some limitations. It was designed for film cameras so it will work well with both APS-C and Full Frame cameras.
About the lens:
The Soligor 400mm f6.3 gets many mixed reviews due to the fact that there are 3 versions of this lens. This particular item is made by Tokina and it's far superior to all the other versions. Technically this is a Tokina RMC 400mm f6.3, so if you want to search for reviews, search that lens instead. This lens has 72mm filter diameter, compared to the other (worse) makes with 67mm.
The lens is sharp and has nice contrast, even wide open. Also the lens just a bit over 1kg or 36oz, which means having a day out shooting birds with it will not be an issue. The lens has it's own tripod mount so using with a monopod or tripod is really easy.
This lens is a perfect alternative for the 500mm mirror lenses as it has better sharpness and way better bokeh renderings, not to mention the possibilities for aperture control.
