About Kart Crazy;
Kart Crazy is owned and managed by me Shaun Finch. I am an electronic engineer. I spent the first 15 years of my career commissioning RADAR and weapon systems on Navy ships.
I have been involved in motorsport, racing motorbikes, from the mid-90s to 2007. At that time I designed one of the first “speed shifters” for clutch-less gear changes.
In 2011 my son Jack was 8, we both started karting. March 2012 we lined up for our first MSA kart meeting at Forest Edge. I quickly realised trying to look after Jack and race myself was too much, so I took the back seat becoming his mechanic. I kept my kart and did lots of test days and a little IKR racing. Jack went on to win many races and compete in SuperOne.

It was apparent to me the cost of kart electronics was high. So I started repairing transponders and designed sensors to work with MyChron & Alfano lap timers – Kart Crazy was born.

Since then we have expanded our range to include 3D printed kart products & use the printer to make lap sensor cases.

We try to be a “green” as possible. Our office/workshop is solar powered and we use PLA, which is a biodegradable plastic made from renewable natural resources.
