A real steel horseshoe for the bride to either carry down the aisle alongside her bouquet, or be presented with after the "I Do's".

An authentic handcrafted pre-worn horseshoe has been carefully prepared to produce a truly traditional wedding gift.  Finished in shiny silver powder coat.  The horseshoe is drilled at the top to enable the carrying ribbon to be securely tied to the horseshoe if required.

Each horseshoe is specially selected for size to ensure it is not too heavy to carry during such a busy day.

Horseshoes have always been associated with good luck especially when pre-worn by a horse, particularly at weddings.

Lucky Omen Origin -  Iron is considered lucky as it is born from the marriage of rock and fire.  In ancient times Blacksmiths were alchemical masters of the elements and their by-products, their products were believed to possess supernatural powers.  A 10th Century Archbishop of Canterbury was said to have foiled Satan because of the positive power of the horseshoe when the Archbishop disguised himself as a horse.

In addition the basic shape of the horseshoe is traditionally said to be lucky and goes back to pre-Christian times.  The supernatural powers were associated with the shape of the crescent moon, which was thought to enhance fertility.

This pre-worn and handcrafted gift comes in an unfinished wooden presentation case.

The case has a hinged lid with a picture of a horseshoe engraved onto it.

The presentation case is 16cm x 16cm x 6cm overall.
