After many years of trusty performance and urban zig-zagging, I have decided to sell my Bridgestone fixed gear bicycle. I bought this frame when I was living in Tokyo about ten years ago and brought it with me to Berlin and Washington, DC. Sure there are a lot of fixies out there but these real NJS-certified bikes directly off the Keirin race tracks are what set the trend many years ago and indeed, are constructed with the highest level of craftsmanship. They are a true joy to ride. This bike is very light and very strong and with the excellent center of gravity (‘compact geometry’), is extremely responsive to maneuvering- in either city traffic or if you were jockeying to pass someone on the track. Some parts on this complete bike are NJS-certified so I prefer to sell this as a complete because I have built it up over the years but I am now OK with selling only the frame - same price though ;). If you're serious, maybe I can weisel a discount. If sold, I will go to a bike shop and ask for a box and package it properly and carefully for domestic shipping only.

I am selling as is! There are a few rust spots on the frame so I am DISCOUNTING VERY VERY SIGNIFICANTLY!

I would ask a dreamy $1200 for everything but I’m going for a very VERY casual $430 'as is' and a reasonable fee ($60) for ground shipping in the US! Yup, I lowered the price again.

I prefer delivery or pick up in the DMV. I can ship it but it will take me 2 to 3 days to have time to disassemble and pack it and ship it properly.

I will request full payment before delivery. Paypal only please.

Bike Details:

There is some rust/scratches on the bicycle but I honestly don’t think that makes a difference. (I love the bicycle that much and it's a relic).

Comes with a front brake, because when I was living in Tokyo the metropolitan police cracked down, and as a foreigner I wanted to be extra careful, so I listened to my local friends and had the front brake put on (not really a big deal unless you have a death wish in 2017).

Handlebars: In addition to the cut-off bars, I am also including the NJS Nitto chrome-finish drop bars ($50 to $70 value). I cut them a bit since my knees would come into contact and get scratched. I also have the matching Nitto chrome plugs in there to complete the look.

Wheels: I recently got new wheels from Wheelmaster on eBay. They work and look fine.

Tires: Halo Twin Rail Courier on the rear is an amazing puncture proof tire, and of course holds up well for skids. I have ridden this rear tire exclusively for about 5 years, it's been tested in Tokyo (commute every day to work), Berlin (broken beer bottles everywhere), and Washington, DC. Both tires have puncture-resistant tubes in there too.

Suede toe-in straps are included.
Brake: Shimano is pretty standard. Replacements pads are about $10 anywhere.
Pedals:
Crank: Sugino
Chain: Recently replaced (generic).
Saddle: Blue Lug (Tokyo), but could need to be replaced.

Fun detail: My local mechanic was the creator and lead-builder of esteemed Keirin label, Kalavinka, and represented Japan in the Mexico Olympics. This bike used to get the best care, they used to lube it up with professional speed lube and align everything perfectly with laser guided systems- it was a wonder hanging out in that shop. The stories, the photographs on the wall, the lessons, the observations and glimpsing around at their experiments. When treated with love and care, this bike runs in silence. It is stealth and people don’t even hear you coming from behind - no joke.
