Beveled edges ensure proper fitment in the frame and refract any light away from the edge of the lens. With a flat edge cut or groove cut seen on some custom cuts, light can enter the lens from the outer edges causing a terrible glare and distorted vision. Our lenses are edged with a rounded bevel similar to OEM to ensure proper fit and function in your X Metal frames.
Base curve is the measurement of the curvature of frame & lens relative to a person's face and eyes. X Metal sunglasses are 8.75 curve and we try use only authentic Oakley donor lenses that have no more than 0.75 deviation of curve from original offering better fit and function no matter what generation your X Metal frame is.
