Symbolizing Australia’s friendship and business ties with the host country, China, the coin’s reverse portrays a koala and a panda on a colored background depicting a forest. The design includes the Australian pavilion’s colorful logo - a representation of the Australian continent in three wavy lines symbolizing the blue sea and sky, red center and golden beaches. The coin’s reverse also incorporates The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark. Australian Legal Tender Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the 2010 year-date.
