Beautiful and mysterious, this custom made 'throw" of Mayan Design is a fair representation of the tapestry once owned by Marilyn Monroe, seen here in a photograph hanging on a wall in her Brentwood home and where it was found at the time of her death in 1962. The Chac-Mool "throw" owned by Monroe was recently auctioned for $22K by Julien’s of Hollywood. This product is intended for customers who wish to purchase a fair interpretation of the piece owned and cherished by Marilyn Monroe.

"Chac Mool" is the name given to a type of pre-Columbian Mesoamerican stone statue. It depicts a human figure in a reclining position with the head up and turned to one side, holding a bowl (of fire or sacrifice) over the stomach. Chac Mool statues are found in various locations from Quintana Roo, Mexico to Guatemala, including in the ancient city of Chichen Itza. No one knows the meaning behind this symbol but many theories abound.
