OEM DUCATI CHAIN AND SPROCKET STOCK SIZES are:
1999-2002 DUCATI 750ss Super Sport  OEM size is 520x98 x-ring chain, 14t Ft. Sprocket, 40t Rear Sprocket
 
For QUICK ACCELERATION 14/42t  gear ratio (quicker off the line, quicker roll on's, easier wheelies),
      Request a (+2t) 42 tooth QA rear sprocket during checkout in the "Add Message" tab.
       This quick ratio will be much quicker, but slower top speed with higher freeway cruising rpm's.


For FREEWAY GEARING 15/39t  FASTER TOP SPEED, and LOWER FREEWAY RPM's, better highway gas mileage.
       Request a 15t(+1t) front sprocket and a 39t rear Freeway Ratio during checkout in the "Add Message" tab  for lowered highway cruising rpm's and higher top speed.
       +1t front sprocket is a versatile way to gear it for top end, this way you can switch back to the stock size 14t with the same length chain if you ever want to.
       This FREEWAY ratio will be much faster top speed, but will be less responsive in low rpm throttle response.


       "Near" OEM Ratio GEARING 14/39t   is the DEFAULT for this listing.  
        Exact oem 40t is not available in a 525 conversion, so use this 14/39t as an ideal VERY close replacement.
        OEM Ratio Gearing is the "Happy Medium" for best all around riding types, with reasonable high speed engine rpm's and low rpm throttle response.    
        This -1t rear will make a VERY minor difference with slightly lower top gear cruising rpm's and slightly faster top speed. 




* A 1 tooth change in the front is equivalent to a 3 tooth change in the rear.. but opposite effects.
* A 1 tooth change in the rear is a very slight change.
EXAMPLE: (-1 tooth front = +3 teeth rear) or (+1 tooth front = -3 teeth rear)
EXAMPLE: (-1 tooth front and +1 tooth rear combined is the same as +4 rear only without changing the front)

STOCK GEARING  is the factory calculated "happy medium" of both low end acceleration and top end speed.

525 size is approx. 2mm wider than 520 size. 525 sprockets must be used a 525 size chain, and 520 sizes must use all 520 components.
